Target of Cutting (Leikkauksen Kohteena)
During the past few years, Finland has suffered from an economic crisis. People who operate in the field of culture have been forced to face aggressive cutbacks and layoffs. These are often explained as part of “a necessary money saving operation”.
The company which owns our school decided to terminate the fine arts study program in Tampere University of Applied Sciences immediately as my studies started.
This interactive installation gives an opportunity to experience the feeling of being a target of cutting and to explore what kind of thoughts and emotions the situation may trigger.
