The target of advertisement is to create artificial needs to people. The commercials all over the city are sending a signal, that you need to consume in order to be happy. In reality the things that most directly affect our well-being are free.
In the performance public space was set free from advertisements, replacing them with art posters. On the compensatory posters there is ‘a shopping list’, and instead of things to buy the list consists of things and actions that release endorphin in the human body. The removed advertisements were sent back to the advertisement company.
The posters encourage people to question the artificial needs, and to concentrate on the things that actually create enjoyment.
