In the acrylic painting serie Up in the Ass of Timo (and other meme paintings) the rapid and ephemaral essence of the internet memes is been captured by painting. I was interested of the paradoxical clash of approaching the new untamed visual environment of internet with the traditional,slow and concrete medium. One of my aims by painting the memes was to slow down the numbing visual overflow of our surroundings into a static, concrete and sustainable form.
